Gamblers Anonymous. Do you think you have a problem with compulsive gambling, or want to learn more about how to stop gambling? Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other to help solve this common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling. There are no dues or fees for Gamblers Anonymous membership, and the group is not allied with any religion or political organization. Firefighters Memorial Sunday. The Hull Fire Department will celebrate Firefighters Memorial Sunday at the Hull Cemetery beginning at 9:30 a.m. In the event of heavy rain, the service will be held indoors at the Central Fire Station at 1 A Street. The public is invited to honor the active and retired Hull Firefighters who have passed away during the last year. It is also the department’s annual awards ceremony, in which members are recognized for actions above and beyond the call of duty during the year.

Strength & Flow Monday and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. Sara Pearson teaches this dynamic class integrating breath, mindful movement, and yoga, with the use of small hand weights, resistance bands, and balls to increase strength and flexibility. $5 per class. Qigong on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Sandy O’Hara leads a class with roots in Chinese medicine, philosophy, and martial arts. This class is for anyone who wants to lower their stress and maintain long term health and wellness. The six-week series is offered for $5 per class. Balance and Conditioning. The senior center is offering balance and conditioning classes. Each session consists of strength and conditioning exercises, stretches, and various balance drills designed to increase balance, strength, and flexibility. The stretching and strengthening exercises are focused on key muscles and joints to improve range of motion, strength, stability, awareness, and reaction time to prevent falls from poor balance. Chair Yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Yoga can be practiced by everyone. It is an ideal activity for those with balance issues or looking to start a yoga practice slowly. It not only has the benefits of regular yoga, such as helping with stress, pain, and fatigue, but it can also help with joint lubrication, balance, and even age-specific issues like menopause and arthritis. Zumba Gold Tuesdays at 8:45 a.m. Using light weight-toning Moroccan sticks, Justine Hobin leads classes in rhythm-based movement that tones arms, core, and lower back. Veterans who served during the war on terror: The War Memorial Commission is seeking submissions for an update to the memorial wall. Active-duty dates 9/11/01 to 9/30/21. Bereavement Support Group. This free online support group begins on Tuesday, July 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will be ongoing. It is open to anyone who has experienced the death of someone they love. Registration is required. This support group will be held virtually via Zoom.
