Election Day is Tuesday: In addition to candidates for state offices, voters face nine ballot questions
/On Tuesday, November 3, voters will face nine questions on the ballot. Last week, we provided information on Questions 1 through 5; this week, Questions 6 through 9 are featured. Subscribers can log on to their accounts for an explanation of the first five questions. For a sample ballot, including all candidates for office, click here. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hull High School, 180 Main Street.
The information online and below is from the Secretary of State’s office and explains what votes in favor and against each question would do, and provides a summary of the question (provided by the Attorney General) and positions of proponents and opponents. If no organized group staked out a position, the Secretary of State’s office created the statement. This is the same information that was sent to registered voters by mail and is available online at www.sec.state.ma.us/divisions/elections/elections-and-voting.htm.
Question 6: Natural Resource Conservation Fund
This proposed law would establish a Nature for All Fund that, subject to appropriation by the Legislature, would receive 50% of state taxes collected from the sale and use of sporting goods, recreational vehicles, and golf courses for the first year of its operation.
