The Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant issued a statement to customers of the Weir River Water System regarding confusion about the new billing system.

As of July 1, the Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant (HMLP) handles billing and payments for Weir River Water System (WRWS) customers.

The Hull Municipal Lighting Plant does not manage water billing. If you receive a WRWS water bill, your payment should go to Hingham Light, not Hull Light. We know this can be confusing because both Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant and Hull Municipal Lighting Plant are called “HMLP.”

Hingham Light and WRWS have sent bill inserts, letters, and other notices about this change. Please check your bill carefully for payment instructions.

Also, to make payment more convenient for Hull customers, WRWS is working to add a drop box at the Hull Town Hall within the next few months.
