Robert Paul Anderson, Sr., at 81

Robert Paul Anderson, Sr., age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Dorchester on September 27, 1942, the son of the late Paul and Margaret (Anastasia) Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was raised in Weymouth, where he graduated from Weymouth High School with the Class of 1960. He went on to join the Air Force at the age of 17.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda, I. (Mistretta) Anderson, and was the father of eight children in a blended family: Robert Anderson, Jr. and his wife, Yvette, of Weymouth, Alyson and Greg Shea of Scituate, Jody Fennelly of Hull, Kimberly Anderson Whitfield and her husband, Travis, of Havelock, N.C., Tammy Nicklow and her husband, Bryan, of Newport, N.C., Paul Anderson of Havelock, N.C., Ann Contois of Holiday, Florida. Mr. Anderson was predeceased by his cherished daughter, Kelly Anderson, grandson Gregory Shea II, and his sister, Katherine Hotte. He had 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Mr. Anderson settled in the seaside town of Hull 44 years ago to raise his family. He easily became a beloved member of the community, always stopping to talk and to tell a few of his funny jokes.

Mr. Anderson retired from Raytheon in Waltham; in his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, caring for his pets, shopping, and cooking.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Mr. Anderson’s Life Celebration on Saturday, February 10, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Sons of Italy, 120 Quarry St., Quincy.
