In the Sport-light: Roundup of news about Hull athletes

• 3/4 Boys Soccer Team 2 improved to 3-3-1 on the season, defeating Middleboro, 4-1, at home on Saturday, May 31. The team came out strong with Kai Funari scoring the first goal. Enki Mundo had an impressive goal that arched right in the top of the net. Andy Michaelides scored two goals, one of which was a nice shot right before the ref blew the whistle to end the game. Declan Fahey and Teddy Misdea did a great job holding down the defensive line. The next and final game of the spring season is against Kingston at home on Saturday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the high school.
• Boys 5/6 Soccer won, 2-0, against Duxbury on Saturday, May 31 at home. Will McCarthy and Cody Calabria scored goals, with excellent saves made by Reefe Markowitz. The team’s next game is Saturday, June 7 at 1:30 p.m. in Kingston.

• Girls 6/7/8 Soccer defeated Scituate, 6-0, at home on Friday, May 30, improving to 6-1 on the season. Aubrey Littlefield scored three goals and Abby Baglione, Evelyn Concannon, and Stella Palermo scored one each. This was the eighth-graders’ final home game. Abby Baglione, Michaela Collins, Evelyn Concannon, Olivia Michaelides, and Ava Palermo have all had amazing youth soccer careers and are sure to shine as they move on to play at Hull High.
• Hull High Baseball fell to Hopedale in the state tournament with a final score of 13-4. The team finished even with an 11-11 record on the year. This was the final game for seniors Luke Dunham, Brayden Roberts, Ken Autio, and John Reynolds, all of whom recorded at least one hit to end their high school baseball careers. All of these students/athletes will be missed for both their on-the-field and off-the-field contributions to HHS Baseball. “Moving forward our returning players have a lot to work on, but the foundation is there to make another run to qualify and advance further in the 2026 state tournament,” said coach Mike O’Donnell.
• In Track and Field news, congratulations to Christopher Resnick, who medaled and came in second place in the pentathlon and to Elsie Harper, who came in eighth place and medaled in the 400 hurdles on day one of the Division 6 state championships on Saturday, May 31. On day two, Lawrence Bodley placed seventh in the high jump and Elsie Harper placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.
