Hull High School Principal Robert Shaw has resigned to take a job at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, Superintendent Michael Jette announced Wednesday.

In an email to parents, Jette said that Shaw “accepted a leadership position” at the Cambridge high school, and that his last day in Hull would be Friday, August 21.

The departure of Shaw – who was hired in 2024 to replace Michael Knybel, who left after two years –leaves Hull High with its third leadership transition in the span of four years.

According to Jette, current Assistant Principal Anthony Hrvinak has been appointed interim principal while parallel searches are conducted for both an interim leader and the permanent principal. Hrvinak, who previously was principal of the Memorial School, has been in Hull for 15 years.

“We believe that each posting will appeal to a different candidate pool, and we will work with our school community to select the one best leader for the future of HHS,” Jette wrote. “We want to assure parents and students that the Hull High School schedule has been finalized, all teaching slots have been filled, and we are ready to welcome students back on September 2nd for another amazing school year.”
