• 14U Baseball finished summer in fifth place with a record of 5-4. In the playoffs, the team won its first game, 4-0, against Abington. Chase and Christian Silva combined for the shutout with 12 total strikeouts. Chase Silva collected three hits, two singles and a triple. A single by Evan Doyle put the Pirates ahead in the fourth inning. Dom Ramos and Silva each drove in one run for the Pirates. Doyle collected two hits on the game. Gavin Griffin had a walk and a hit. The team’s next game came against first-place undefeated Silver Lake Red, and the Pirates won, 19-3. Chase Silva and Christian Silva each had three hits. Nick Mihal singled, scoring a run in the first inning. The Pirates added to their early lead in the third inning after Chase Silva tripled down the right field line, Evan Doyle walked, and Gavin Griffin singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Mackie Concannon and Mihal each had two hits. Doyle and Griffin had one each. The Pirates outhit Silver Lake 12-4. Finally, the team lost in the championship game, 8-1, to the second place Silver Lake Grey team. Thanks to coaches Mike Silva and Greg Griffin for all their efforts this season.

• Hull High’s fall sports season starts next week. The girls varsity soccer team’s first two games are at home – against Marshfield on Friday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. and Quincy on Tuesday, September 1 at 5 p.m., while the boys varsity soccer team opens its season on Tuesday, September 8 against Norfolk County Agricultural High School at home at 4 p.m. The football team’s first game is on the road against Tech Boston Academy on Friday, September 11 at 6 p.m., followed by a return home on September 18 to face Monomoy Regional High School at 7 p.m.

• Hull High’s Girls Softball team is holding a cornhole tournament fundraiser on Sunday, August 30, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Danielle Struzziery Field on N Street. • Hull Youth Football has announced its schedule for the 2026 season. Games are played on Sundays – Mites play at 10 a.m. and Midgets are at 11:30 a.m. The season opens on Sunday, September 13 against Lower Cape at Monomoy High School. On September 20, the Pirates play Dennis-Yarmouth at home; September 27’s game is at West Bridgewater. The next three games are at home – October 4 against Carver, October 11 against Lower Cape, and October 18 against West Bridgewater. The next two games – October 25 and November 1 – are both away, against Dennis-Yarmouth and Hanson.

• Registration for the 2026-27 Hull Pirates Youth Basketball Travel season (boys and girls entering grades 3 -8) continues online. Families are encouraged to register early to help with team planning and ensure players are ready for the upcoming season. The season runs from mid-November through March, featuring 14-16 regular-season games and playoffs in early March. Registration will close on October 2. The season begins with a tournament, and league schedules will be finalized in early November, with regular season games starting the first weekend in December. Games are held on weekends. The Hull Pirates Travel Program focuses on player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitive basketball in a fun and supportive environment. Payment plans are available to help make registration more accessible for families.
