James F. Perchard, at 77
James F. “Jim” Perchard, of Hull, originally of East Boston, died on Oct. 10. He was 77.
Mr. Perchard most proudly served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was active in the corps’ scholarship foundation. He earned his master’s degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University. An entrepreneur and mentor to many, Mr. Perchard co-founded Mercury Metal Products in Abington, one of the numerous businesses he ran successfully. He was a voracious reader, world traveler, avid golfer, a keen photographer, and took great pleasure living by the sea among dear friends.
His joy in life was caring for family. Beloved husband of Patricia [Ryan] Perchard; devoted father of Jeannine Sargent and her husband, Brad, of California, and Adrienne Perchard of Braintree. Mr. Perchard was the cherished brother of Michael Perchard and his wife, Jeanette, of Middleboro, the late David Perchard, and the late Stephen Perchard and his wife, Margaret Perchard, of Raynham. Devoted grandfather of Nicholas and Julia Demarquez of Braintree; caring brother in law of Mary Sheila Evans and her husband, Samuel; treasured uncle of Lauren Dell’Olio and her husband, Michael Dell’Olio, Paul and Barry Evans, and Meredith Wiggins; best friend and companion to his dog, Harry.
Visiting hours are Monday, Oct. 17, from 4-8 p.m. at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham. His funeral service at St. Ann’s Church, 208 Samoset Ave., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, followed by burial in Hull Village Cemetery.
