Obituary: Patricia V. Munro

Patricia V. Munro, at 85
Patricia Vivian Munro of Brockton, formerly of Cohasset, died Nov. 30, after living with Alzheimer’s for many years.
Born in Windsor, Nova Scotia on Dec. 1, 1930, almost 86 years ago to the day of her death, Mrs. Munro immigrated to Peabody when she was five. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Salem State College and her master’s in teaching and reading from Bridgewater State College. She went on to follow her passion, teaching children to read for 34 years at the Jacobs Elementary School in Hull.
She was the beloved wife of the late Max Munro. Inseparable, they devoted their lives to faith and serving others. Together, they loved to travel, read, watch sports, and spend mornings at their regular breakfast joints. Above all they loved attending the Bible studies group at Saint Stephen’s in Cohasset.
Mrs. Munro brought joy to all who survived her, especially her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and David Karahalis of Brockton, her son and daughter-in-law, David Munro and Kim Draper of Hull; her grandchildren, Laura Karahalis and her husband, David Ng, Nathaniel Karahalis of Brockton, and the late Joshua Munro of Hull; her brother, Eric Anthony of Marblehead; and her niece, Debbie French, and her husband, David, of Pembroke, NH.
A private memorial service will be held with the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Beacon Hospice, 182 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02720.
