Obituary: Ruth M. Newell

We respectfully acknowledge Ruth Newell's death. Her obituary follows:
Ruth M. [Walker] Newell of Hingham, formerly of Hull, died Feb. 3.
Mrs. Newell was born in Cambridge and raised in Watertown. After marrying the love of her life, Warren Newell, the couple moved to West Acton, where they raised their family and opened a variety store, The News Shop, of which they were the proud owners for 25 years. Following their retirement, the Newells moved to Bradenton, FL.
During their 25 years in Florida, the pair would entertain others with their music; Ruth by playing the piano and Warren by singing. In their later years, they moved back to Hull, where they could enjoy time with their family.
After his death, Mrs. Newell moved to Harbor House in Hingham, where she participated in various activities, including playing the piano for the Adult Day Program and various events. She had a love for music, but her main passion was spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed.
