Obituary: John E. Merry Jr.

John “Jack” E. Merry Jr., age 71, of Hull, formerly of Duxbury, died March 15, following a long illness. 
Born in Quincy, Mr. Merry was a Duxbury High School and Bridgewater State College graduate. He was a Vietnam War veteran and a self-employed entrepreneur with diversified interests, working in the IT business most recently as a project manager. 
Mr. Merry always enjoyed helping others, in particular delivering food for the elderly over the holidays. He loved flying, playing tennis, rollerblading, reading, and listening to music.
He is survived by his sons, Taylor Merry of San Francisco, and Nicholas Merry and Alexander Merry, both of Kingston. He also leaves his brothers, Richard Merry and his wife, Holly, of Halifax, and Ronald Merry of West Boylston. 
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held in the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the funeral home at 8 p.m.
