Obituary: Raymond L. Allaire

Raymond L. Allaire, at 50
Raymond L. Allaire, 50, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Jan. 2.
A 1984 graduate of Brockton High School who attended Arizona State University, Mr. Allaire worked as a meat cutter for Shaw’s Supermarket.
A certified personal trainer, Mr. Allaire was an avid runner. He was the founder of the Gateway Running Club in Wareham, a member of L Street Running Club, and the Greater New Bedford Track Club. He participated in 12 marathons, including Boston, New York, and Chicago, the Mt. Desert Island and Marine Corps marathons, and several others.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Peter Bradstreet of Wareham; his father and stepmother, Lionel and Karin Allaire of Weymouth; his brothers and sisters, Janice Berlinsky and her husband, Rodman Chudy, and Susan Whetstone and her husband John, all of Rhode Island, Cathie Jones and her husband, Bob, of Hull, Elaine Biester and her husband, Jim, of Illinois, Kristin Ludlow and her husband, Matt, of Florida, Michael Cusano of Milton, Linda Tavares and her husband, Mike, of Rhode Island, and Brian Bradstreet of Whitman. He also leaves his close and loving friend, Kristine Gaffney, and her children; 12 nieces and nephews; one great niece; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his beloved dog, Ashley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 13, at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours have been omitted.
