Obituary: Gloria A. Broderick

Gloria A. Broderick, at 95
Gloria A. (Cellini) Broderick, of Hull and Bonita Springs, Fla., died Dec. 12. She was 95.
Mrs. Broderick was born in Quincy in 1923 to immigrant parents and was fluent in Italian. She was married to Robert M. Broderick and lived for 40 years in Norwell where she was active in St. Helen’s Church sodality and choir. She traveled extensively throughout Europe with her husband for many years. She last worked as assistant to the dean at Labore College. 
After she was widowed, she moved to Florida where she enjoyed volunteering as an English teacher to migrant workers and for the Bonita Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Bonita Springs Art Center. She continued to travel, visiting such places as Norway, Russia, and China. 
She was the beloved mother of Helen L. Broderick, of Hull, and the late Robert M. Broderick Jr.; grandmother of Amy and Joseph Broderick and Patrick Mahon; and great- grandmother of Richard McCoy. She also will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Broderick was predeceased by two sisters and a brother.
Visiting hours are on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 4-7 pm at Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 85 Main St., Hingham, followed immediately by interment at Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell.
