Obituary: Raymond J. Verrier Sr.

Raymond J. Verrier Sr., at 57
Raymond J. Verrier Sr., of Hull, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, after a long, brave battle with illness. He was 57.
Mr. Verrier attended Quincy High School and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served his country with honor from 1978-1982. 
Mr. Verrier is survived by his wife of 30 years, Coleen (Fanning) Verrier of Point Allerton; his children, Shawn Fanning and his fiancée, Jeni Ivey, of Los Angeles; Melissa Verrier and her fiancé, Kevin Sullivan Jr., of Lincolnton, N.C.; and Raymond Verrier Jr., Ron Verrier, Jonathan Verrier, and Chrystal Norton, all of Hull. Papa Ray is also survived by five very special grandchildren, who were his pride and joy: Cameron Michael Verrier and Willow Elizabeth Verrier, both of Marshfield; Scarlett Fanning, of Los Angeles; Noah Verrier, of Seaford, N.Y., and the newest addition to the family, Arya Ivey Fanning. He will be sadly missed by his siblings: John Verrier Jr. and his wife, Donna Verrier, of Wareham; Donna Duddy and her husband, Paul Duddy, of West Bridgewater; David Verrier and Mark Verrier, both of Quincy; Scott Verrier Sr., of Hull; Denice Robichaud, of Carver, as well as Richard Verrier. Numerous extended family members are all mourning his loss. 
A memorial service will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St., Rockland, on Friday. Visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m., followed by a Marine Corps ritual and memorial service starting at 11 a.m. The immediate family will then proceed to the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne for interment with military honors at 1:15 p.m.
