Obituary: Ann L. Lewis

Ann L. Lewis, at 90
Ann Lee (Dennison) Lewis – beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt – died Feb. 28, after a brief illness. She was the second of nine children born to Leon and Elizabeth Dennison of Newburyport. She settled in Hull in 1958, where she lived for 55 years before moving to Florida.
Mrs. Lewis was a very talented woman, who played guitar, banjo, and mandolin and gave guitar lessons for many years. Painting, drawing, photography, sewing, crocheting, jewelry making, and traveling were a few of her many hobbies. She adored cats, providing food and “cat condos” to many generations of feral cats. (Sorry, neighbors!)
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Smith, and her husband, Eric, of Clearwater Fla.; son Gary Lewis and Kathy, his longtime companion, of Mendon; grandson Jason, of Mendon, and granddaughter Caitlin, of California. She also leaves a brother, Curt Dennison, of Missouri; sisters Susan Flagg, of Massachusetts, and Christine Travelstead, of Arizona; and the amazing Newburyport gang.
We will all miss her dry humor, funny, irreverent jokes, and excellent cooking. (Mama, don’t forget that penny!)
No service is scheduled at this time. If you wish to honor Ann’s memory, please donate to Hull Seaside Animal Rescue, 487 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA 02045, or Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
