John W. Galvin, at 82

John W. Galvin, 82, of Hull passed away suddenly on September 21, 2025. Born in Weymouth in 1943, Mr. Galvin was the son of the late Yolanda E. and John B. Galvin.

Mr. Galvin graduated from Hull High School in 1962. He was a member of the drum and bugle corps and played tight end for the Hull High School football team. After graduation, he attended Bentley School of Accounting before enlisting in the USMC. He went on to join New England Telephone in 1965, where he was employed for more than 30 years.

After retirement, he had a small dog-walking service. He had won several table tennis championships when visiting Florida. He became a devout Christian and tried to emulate and demonstrate this in his life.

Mr. Galvin is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Galvin, and his cherished son, Shaun Galvin. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by two sisters, Elaine Player and Francine Palumbo.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, October 2, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street, Hingham. A prayer service will follow at 6 p.m.
