Obituary: David F. Freeland

David F. Freeland, at 68

David Forrest Freeland, 68, a lifetime resident of Hull, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, in Melbourne, Florida on July 22.  

Mr. Freeland, known to many as Chumley, was born in Cambridge but moved to Hull at the age of seven and always considered it home. A hard worker from a young age, he was a dedicated Teamsters driver for many years. He then went to work for the Town of Hull DPW, where he was employed until his retirement. He moved to Florida, where he enjoyed his sunny later years. 

Mr. Freeland is survived by his beloved daughter, Jacquelyn Freeland; his brother John (Susie) Freeland of Abington; his sister Ellen (Michael) Corcoran of Hull; his sister Mary (John) Peterson of Melbourne, FL; his sister Lorraine (Jack) Walsh of Melbourne, FL; as well as many nieces and nephew and extended family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy (Shields) and his son, Daniel. He was also predeceased by his loving mother, Eleanor C. (Devine)Freeland, and his father, Forrest Freeland.
