Obituary: Sharon Amy Francer

Sharon Amy Francer, at 71

Sharon Amy Francer of Hull died peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 71 years of age. The daughter of Shirley and Hecky Francer, she was the loving sister of Larry Francer (husband Jerome Herron) and Beth Napurano (husband Chris Napurano), and the cherished aunt of Harry Wurth and Ben Wurth. She also is survived by many cousins and friends.

Ms. Francer was born in Boston in 1954 and spent her early childhood years tearing it up with Shirley in the streets of Brookline. She then moved with her parents to live with her Nana and Papa on H Street in Hull until the family home on Central Avenue was built. Her brother, Larry, was born shortly after and they enjoyed a fun-filled, heavy-on-the-ice-cream life, until, surprise – Beth was born!

Ms. Francer was in Hull High School’s Class of 1972, graduated from Ithaca College School of Music, and continued to get her master’s in music education. She felt that everyone needed to find their passion, and hers was music. She was a composer, vocalist, pianist, and teacher. She started her teaching career at the New England Conservatory of Music and was encouraged to always continue singing by Ran Blake. She then took her talents to the Plymouth School System, where she worked her magic as a teacher, mentor, accompanist for the school musicals, and a positive light to all, before retiring after 35 years of service. Ms. Francer was an avid traveler, she adored Israel and the Dead Sea, bringing back jewelry and pottery every time she went. She was a life member of Hadassah and an active member of Temple Beth Sholom, serving on the board and as the choir director.

She practiced Kundalini yoga, was a certified instructor and wore only white cotton from head to toe for more than a decade. She dipped her toes into piano bar performing and dipped her entire body into the ocean and bay waters with gusto and joy. She is remembered for her beautiful sea glass jewelry that she gathered on her many walks of her beloved Nantasket Beach. Ms. Francer dedicated many of her years living in Hull to taking care of her aging parents. Her devotion to them and willingness to respect their wishes of staying in their home of more than 60 years took up much of her time and energy. She was a born caretaker and gave of herself to many. She will be remembered by everyone whose lives she touched for her beautiful spirit, her infectious laugh, her positive energy, her selflessness and her endless love.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Sunday, August 17 at 11 a.m. at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington Street, Canton, with interment to immediately follow in Hull Village Cemetery.
