Everett F. Campbell, Jr.

Everett F. Campbell, Jr., 86, of Aiken, South Carolina, formerly of Hull, passed away on July 28, 2026 unexpectedly at home.

Born in Scituate on January 20, 1940, he was the first-born son of the late Everett F. Campbell, Sr. and Ruth (MacDonald) Campbell. Before retiring, he worked for the Town of Braintree school department as a senior custodian. He also worked as a driving instructor while still living in Massachusetts. He maintained his credentials to teach driving his entire life. He was proud to teach students safe driving habits from the beginning.

Everett is survived by his life companion, Edith E. Cram of Aiken, South Carolina. Everett was a well-known local musician known for the Songs ’n’ Tales, Roads ’n’ Rails shows with his beloved jam mates. With Edie and fellow musicians working in harmony, his love of music was publicly performed for the residents and guests of South Carolina. He was a softspoken man who at times would let music speak for him.

He was the beloved father of Beth Murphy and her husband, Patrick; Daniel Campbell and his wife, Hil; and Jennifer Campbell and her partner, David. He was predeceased by his son, Everett F. Campbell, III. Loving brother of John Campbell and his wife, Maureen; Jay Campbell and his partner, Lynda; Kenneth Campbell and his partner, Ann; and Cindie Brennan and her husband, Paul; brother-in-law of Deborah Campbell and Sandra Campbell. He was predeceased by sister Phyliss Kitson and brothers James Campbell and Richard Campbell. Loving grandfather of Andrew, Sean, Joshua, and Nathaniel Campbell. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Visiting hours were held on Sunday, August 9 at Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel in Hingham, followed by a funeral home service on Monday, August 10. Burial followed at Hull Village Cemetery.
