Richard J. Cox

Richard J. “Richie” Cox, of Melbourne, Florida, originally from Hull, died December 28, 2025. 

Richie was a proud Navy veteran, serving during the European occupation and Korean conflict and then spent 16 years with the Sailors’ Union of the Pacific. He was a member of the DAV, Cohasset American Legion, and the VFW. He worked as a hairdresser and loved to sing. His faith was important to him, and he was a handsome and smart man. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Loving father of Michael of Weymouth, Steven of Burlington, North Carolina, Cherie of Burlington, North Carolina, David of Melbourne, Florida, and the late Debra. Cherished grandfather of Corrine, Jennifer, Jacquelyn, Tanner, Dustin, Rachel, Eric, and Robbie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, January 7 from 4-7:30 p.m. in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham.
