Obituary: Paula Marie Campbell

Paula Marie Campbell, at 83

Paula Marie (Lavidor) Campbell of Hull, formerly of Quincy, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 3, 2025. She was 83.

Born in Boston to Mildred (O’Connell) and Nathan Lavidor, Mrs. Campbell was raised in Quincy and graduated from North Quincy High School. She went on to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in art and education from Regis College. Mrs. Campbell dedicated 37 years to teaching art at Sterling Junior High School, where her creativity, warmth, and encouragement touched the lives of countless students.

She met her husband, David Chase Campbell, at Craigville Beach in Hyannis. The two hit it off and were married for 51 years, having two children.

Mrs. Campbell’s artistic spirit lived on beyond the classroom. She expressed her love of beauty and creativity through jewelry-making and photography. She was an active member of Hull Artists and a devoted parishioner of St. Ann’s Church in the parish of St. Mary of the Assumption. Mrs. Campbell had a passion for movies and theatre. She especially cherished time with family, dogs, and being near the ocean she loved.

Beloved wife of the late David Chase Campbell. Loving mother of Kristen Lavidor Scanlan and her husband, Paul, of Hull and David Chase Campbell, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Westford. Cherished Nana of Kristopher and Nicholas Scanlan, Brandon Parsons, and Taylor and Ryan Campbell. She also is survived by her beloved niece and nephew, Adrienne Lavidor-Berman and Nathan Satkewich, as well as many other loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Mildred (O’Connell) and Nathan Lavidor, and siblings Lorin Lavidor and Elise Lavidor-Satkewich, and her dear cousin, Luanne Jacobs.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mrs. Campbell’s funeral Mass on Monday, August 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church. Burial to follow at Hull Village Cemetery.
